The St Paul Choral Society of Malta, Hugo Agius Muscat (organ), conducted by Cecilia Agius Muscat, are giving the first performance on 3 November of a new Locus iste setting, in English, commissioned for St Paul's Pro-Cathedral in Valletta. This year is the 175th anniversary of the consecration of the pro-cathedral.
A new setting of the Ave Maria - using a text set originally for choir by Josquin - will be heard in a performance on 2 November (7pm) by Andriana Yordanova (soprano) and Ramona Zammit Formosa (piano), at St Augustine Church & Priory in Valletta, Malta. The Sonatina—'Sketches from Senglea' will also be on the programme.
The Choir of Chichester Cathedral will sing the anthem Exaudi, Deus on Sunday, 10 November - which was first heard last year on Sunday, 11 November 2018 on the occasion of the centenary of the WW1 armistice.
